China and Burundi agreed to expand cooperation after talks between foreign ministers of the two countries in Beijing on Wednesday.
China supports Burundi's development path, and is ready to enhance cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, human resources development and other areas, said Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang also called on the two countries to expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges and conduct closer coordination on international and regional affairs.
Burundian Minister of External Relations and International Cooperation Alain Aime Nyamitwe said the Burundian government would work with the Chinese side to continue their mutual support for each other on issues involving their respective core interests and major concerns.
Nyamitwe invited Chinese companies to invest in Burundi.
The two sides also signed an agreement on a consultation mechanism between foreign ministries.
