The Communist Party of China (CPC)'s anti-graft bodies were told to step up intra-Party supervision, according to a communique issued after an anti-graft meeting that ended on January 14.

The document was adopted at the three-day sixth plenary session of the 18th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC.

The communique said the observance of political discipline should be a priority in supervision to ensure the implementation of Party policies and safeguard the Party's unity.

Zero tolerance will be shown to offenders who violate the Party's discipline rules, the document said, calling for seriousness and courage from the disciplinary watchdogs.

The document also called for efforts to develop ways that would strengthen intra-party supervision, including amending intra-party supervision regulations and revising the administrative supervision law.

It called for the employment of accountability system to strictly govern the Party.

Inspection tours should cover all central Party and government departments, it said, calling for efforts to focus on key officials and issues and improve flexibility and precision.
