How Is the Report to the CPC National Congress Produced?
How to write such an important report?
Edited by Xia Yuanyuan

The report to the CPC National Congress is about the people’s life and also how the path, theory and institutions of the CPC and China will evolve. It sums up the governance experience in the past and charts the course and plan for the development in the coming years.

Leading officials from departments of the CPC Central Committee, various ministries and research institutions, as well as officials from local governments and experts, jointly work out the draft report.

To write such an important report, simply holding meetings won’t work. The job of the drafting group goes beyond just writing the report. The video looks at the process in detail.

Reports are submitted from various levels of the administration to higher authorities and finally to the drafting group. At the same time, the CPC Central Committee actively seeks the views of political party leaders, experts, scholars and media personnel in foreign countries on major world trends through inter-party exchanges. After that the draft report is put together.

But, that’s not the end of the story. What happens next?
