Climate change, insecurity, food crises, and social upheaval are all threatening the world in which we all live; but there are also plenty of opportunities to propel the world forward. For this to happen, strong leadership, consistent policies, and committed statesmen who can fundamentally change course and veer towards continuous social and economic transformation are required.  

In line with this, the Communist Party of China (CPC) is now among the forces that are trusted and expected to make a stride in this regard, based on its achievements over decades.  

The Party’s success in a number of important fields domestically and its constructive role in maintaining multilateralism and global partnerships have earned it appreciation and an important space within world politics.  

Over the past decades, the CPC, apart from its local phenomenal achievements, has succeeded in directing China foreign policy stance towards forging mutual respect and cooperation.  

China has long been known as a trusted global partner that promotes collaboration worldwide, with a shared view of mutual prosperity and growth for all humankind. China has been pushing countries, despite their differences, to subscribe to common agendas such as development, peace, democracy and so forth.  

In particular, under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese Government has also been working tirelessly to bring about common development. In addition, it is making efforts to tackle emerging global challenges like climate change along with countries around the world. 

However, when it comes to the development partnerships that China has embarked on and is working on throughout the global South, the Party leadership has received more applause for its efforts to create a more just and equal world. Many countries in the global South are now beneficiaries of Chinese development assistance. In particular, African countries are moving into that corner as part and parcel of shared progress. China has assisted African countries to build important infrastructural projects that can help to transform their society and economy. Chinese financial and technical assistance is creating opportunities for African countries to leap forward in their economic growth.  

As a result, China is now regarded as a trusted partner in bringing about development that improves people’s lives sustainably in Africa. Therefore, it’s accurate to conclude that China’s success emanates from the Party’s leadership and is consistent in its modes of operation. I, therefore, hope that the Party will stay on course of progress without losing ground. 

As the world struggles with attendant challenges, the CPC and its leaders are expected to play a paramount role in creating a better world for the humankind. This invariably not only allows China to maintain its strategic importance in the global arena, but also prompts it to become a key player in the field.
