Chinese armed forces have completed their UN peacekeeping mission in Liberia.
A group of Chinese peacekeepers, the 19th such group sent by the country's military, arrived in Beijing on March 1 after a five-month mission. This group of 99, consisting of transportation and engineering detachments, accomplished several tasks including road and bridge construction, material transportation and house renovation. The UN has highly valued their contribution to this African country.
Chinese peacekeepers have been deployed to Liberia since 2003. The return of this group marked the end of Chinese armed forces' peacekeeping mission in Liberia.
