Trains, planes and automobiles... Oh yes, and helicopters. Welcome travelers to the May issue of ChinAfrica Travel Page and in this issue we bring you some serious adrenaline-charged adventures as well as go-with-the-flow and enjoy-the-view experiences.

One of the most unusual, memorable and unique places I have ever been to is Mattanu Lodge in the Northern Cape Provinces of South Africa. So much so, I had to visit it a second time. Their game capture helicopter safaris are almost beyond description in terms of its incredibly breath-taking exhilaration.

It also serves a very important conservation and education purpose so I implore you to visit this unbelievable lodge with its wonderful staff and owners.

On the other end of the spectrum, a leisurely almost two-day train journey from Johannesburg to Cape Town in South Africa is a wonderful way to see the country.

We traveled aboard the Premier Classe train, a very reasonably priced semi-luxurious train with wonderful service, great food and of course, beautiful and diverse scenery.

African artists have come a long way and are now truly putting their stamp on the world. I had the opportunity to chat to a South African artist and potter by the name of Tanya Nockler-Golding, a very talented young artist whose art is both beautiful and practical - she makes tea pots!

Her designs are inspired and her creations each lovingly made, all with their very own personalities and identities.
