The Olympic torch is lit during the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
The hand-held torch used in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games uses hydrogen as fuel and is the world’s first torch with high-pressure hydrogen storage, achieving zero carbon emission from torches for the first time in the history of the Winter Olympics. Unlike previous Olympic Games that used gas such as liquefied natural gas or propane as torch fuel, this Winter Olympics used hydrogen energy as torch fuel for the first time, combining the Olympic spirit with environmental protection. Meanwhile, for the first time in Olympic history, two robots completed an underwater torch relay.
