Egyptian president, CIA chief discuss intelligence cooperation |

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on August 15 discussed with the Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns ways to enhance security and intelligence cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting in Egypt's capital Cairo, Sisi and Burns also talked about the developments in a number of regional issues of common interest, especially with regard to the tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.
The meeting as well touched on the situation in Afghanistan, the Palestinian issue, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, and the crisis in Libya.
Sisi stressed that Egypt attaches great importance to strengthening the robust cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially at the security and intelligence levels, in light of the spread of terrorism and extremism.
For his part, Burns emphasized his country's keenness to continue coordination with Egypt to face various challenges.
