In response to the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges and to further strengthen agricultural cooperation between China and Africa, the production team of the Hebei Radio and Television International Communication Center travelled to Malawi to film the international documentary No Hunger: STB - Stories from Malawi.
The documentary explores how advanced agricultural technologies developed in Quzhou, Hebei Province, are being applied in Malawi through the Science and Technology Backyard (STB) model. Adopting an investigative and on-the-ground reporting approach, the production team filmed across farms, STB sites and international agricultural institutions to document the real experiences of local farmers, researchers and agricultural students.
Through authentic stories from the field, the film reveals how practical and locally adapted Chinese agricultural technologies are helping increase crop yields, raise farmers' incomes and promote agricultural development in Malawi.
By presenting firsthand stories from the front lines of rural development, No Hunger: STB - Stories from Malawi offers a vivid account of China-Africa win-win cooperation for shared development, while demonstrating Hebei's contribution to South-South cooperation and global food security.
