Events Chronicle
>> 1951: UIBE was founded as the education and training base for government officials responsible for China's economic and international business administration under the leadership of the then Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation.
>>1960: UIBE was designated as a "key university" by the government for its outstanding programs.
>> 1997: UIBE was put on the list of "Project 211" Universities, a governmental program aimed at turning about 100 Chinese Universities into exceptionally high quality academic institutions over the course of the 21st century.
>> 2000: UIBE was merged with the China Institute of Finance and consequently reinforced its status as one of the leading academic institutions specializing in the fields of economics, business, insurance, management, finance, law and international trade.
> 2010: The Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Educatuon signed an agreement to work together for the development of UIBE.

> This past spring semester, there were 91 African students from 38 countries attending UIBE.
> In April 2009 UIBE held a pictorial exhibition on the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Sudan.
> In June 2010, UIBE joint "China-Africa Universities 20+20 Cooperation Plan" partnered with Tunis University.
> In November 2010, UIBE, together with Tunis University, held an international seminar looking at debt problems in developing countries.
> In May 2011, UIBE held an campus event named "Focusing on Africa ", attracting many Chinese students who attended lectures and art exhibitions along with song and dance performances.
> In September 2011, UIBE celebrated its 60th anniversary. Ambassadors from more than 20 African countries attended the ceremony. |
