Speaking in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 3 at the Celebration of the Fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to be held in Beijing from July 19-20, Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Tian Xuejun said the acronym FOCAC had another interpretation: Friendship, Opportunity, Cooperation, Agreement and Common Development.

Looking at Africa's past and present, Ambassador Tian used the occasion to showcase China-Africa cooperation through a selection of images, stories and statistics.

Also present at the event was Bongi Ma Ngema-Zuma, wife of South Africa's President Jacob Zuma.
