The Sino-SA Sport and Culture Liaison Association announced its establishment on February 22, 2014 in Pretoria, South Africa. The association is constructed to further promote the sporting and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The newly-established association has Moses Chikane, former South Africa Ambassador to Zambia, as honorary chairman and Gao Guoqiang, a Chinese businessman, as chairman.
At the launch, Yin Yali, Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, encouraged the association to serve as a link between the two countries and do more to promote bilateral sport and cultural exchanges.
Jerry Masia, President of South African Gymnastics Federation, Louis Nolte, Chairperson of the University Sport of South Africa, Von Vollenstee, Vice Chairperson of South African Karate Association and about 100 people from overseas Chinese societies in South Africa attended the launch ceremony.
