The Chinese editions of Nobel Peace Prize winner Kofi Atta Annan's latest two books about his role as secretary general of the United Nations and his unique experiences and contributions while in office were launched in Beijing on April 22.
The books - Interventions: A Life in War and Peace and We the Peoples: A UN for the Twenty-First Century - published by China International Publishing Group and Yilin Publishing House, contain a selection of Annan's speeches during his 40 years with the UN, chronicling his highs and lows in that period.
Annan, a Ghanaian diplomat, served as the seventh secretary general of the UN from January 1997 to December 2006. |
