No Place for GMOs
Africa
The African Biodiversity Network says the continent is not a place for genetically modified organisms, the Post of Zambia reports. Anne Maine, the organization's coordinator, said genetically engineered foods were not a solution to the food shortages and climate change problems in Africa. She said public research institutions in Africa should shift their focus back to farmers' needs rather than supporting agribusiness, which seeks to colonize the food and seed chain.
