Air Zimbabwe
Air Zimbabwe is the country's national airline company. It opened the first flight to China on November 23, 2004, one flight per week from Beijing to Harare, using a Boeing 767-200. All the flight crews have received up to date training, and have years of flight experiences on the African continent.
The company has enjoyed fast and steady development since its first flight to Beijing. On January 22, 2007, it opened the second flight route from Guangzhou, with an hour stopover in Singapore, and then flying to Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lusaka, Lubumbashi, Dar es Salaam, Lilongwe, Victoria Falls City, Bulawayo and Dubai. The flights from Harare also fly to London, Singapore, Dubai, Victoria Falls City, Bulawayo, Kariba, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lusaka, Entebbe, Lubumbashi, Gaborone, Dar es Salaam, Lilongwe and Mauritius.
Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airline companies in the world, with 81 Airbus and Boeing aircraft in service. It flies to 88 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, South America, Far East and North America. Currently 21 aircraft shuttle passengers back and forth from Doha, the capital of Qatar, to four major cities in China, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. Qatar Airways opened offices in these cities in 2008.
Due to high quality services, Qatar Airways has been one of the six airlines worldwide to be awarded a 5-star rating service by Skytrax. In 2009, based on results of an annual survey of over 16 million travelers, it was named Best Airline in the Middle East for the fourth consecutive year and took the honor of Crew Excellence in the Middle East for the seventh consecutive year.
Kenya Airways
Kenya Airways will use the luxury Boeing 777 on its departure flights from Guangzhou and Hong Kong from October 1. The Boeing 777 has 28 business class seats and 294 economy class seats, with capacity up by 50 percent. Currently, there are four flights a week, departing from Guangzhou on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, respectively, three flights from Hong Kong, on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with a stopover in Bangkok and then flying to Nairobi where passengers can be transferred to 50 destinations in Africa within three hours.
Over the past five years, Kenya Airways has committed to providing high-quality services to meet Chinese passengers' needs for purposes of tourism, business, and working overseas. This year will see another seven new destinations, bringing the total number of destinations in Africa up to 56.
