
China, South Africa, the Lusaka Agreement Task Force, the United States and other parties launch Cobra II, a crosscontinent operation against illegal wildlife trade, from December 30, 2013 to January 26, 2014. Operation Cobra II led to more than 350 illegal wildlife product seizures and the arrest of over 400 suspects. The haul included more than 3 tons of raw ivory and ivory products, over 1,000 hides and 36 rhino horns, according to the China Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office. The operation shows China's determination to crack down on illegal wildlife trade.
