Great achievements have been made in the cooperation between China and the Republic of Congo (ROC) and ROC hopes to enhance its strategic partnership with China.
These remarks were made by Isidore Mvouba, ROC minister of state and the minister of transport, civil aviation, merchant marine, during his visit to China December 20-27.
"China's experience is unique. We hope to learn from it and explore how China has made enormous achievements in its economy, culture and society," he said, adding that his visit was aimed at enhancing the long-standing friendship between the Congolese Labor Party (CLP) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) and learn from China's experience.
Though great differences exist between the two countries, Mvouba said there are still many things ROC could learn from China. According to him, ROC is considering to establish its own special economic zone.
The friendship between the two ruling parties has provided solid foundation for China-ROC cooperation, said the minister, leading to great achievements in bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, health and education.
"Cooperation between China and ROC benefits both countries. We hope the win-win cooperation can be carried on," said Mvouba.
Tangible benefits have been achieved, according to the minister. Constructed by the China National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corp., the Imboulou hydroelectric power station, the largest of its kind in ROC, was completed in November 2010. China is also helping ROC build a road linking its capital Brazzaville and the seaport Pointe-Noire.
Mvouba hopes China will increase its investment in ROC. "The world economic center is moving to China. China should take full advantage of this opportunity and shoulder the leading role in South-South cooperation," he said.
Mvouba led a CLP delegation to visit China at the invitation of the CPC. |
