Photography is known for its ability to touch people's hearts. Photos submitted to "Rwanda through Chinese Eyes," a photography competition held in November 2012, depict Africa as seen through a Chinese lens. The 262 works were taken by 56 people from eight enterprises and institutions - the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, China Geo-Engineering Corp., China Road and Bridge Engineering Corp., Beijing Construction Engineering Group Corp., China Civil Engineering Construction Corp., a Confucius Institute located in Rwanda, a Chinese medical team to Rwanda, and an Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center. They observed and recorded scenes from their lives in Rwanda from a keen, friendly and open perspective to build a bridge of mutual understanding between people in the two countries.
