Entrepreneurial Farmer
Ye Bailin, a farmer and entrepreneur in central China's Henan Province, is helping his fellow country people become rich. In 2000, Ye set up a website to sell peanuts and earned 500,000 yuan ($76,000) in the first year. In 2003, Ye rented more than 4 million square meters of land. The land's output is much higher than other areas nearby, as Ye uses advanced farming techniques.
Sworn in
Uganda's re-elected President Yoweri Museveni was sworn in this May for his fourth five-year term. Thousands of people, young and the old, witnessed the swearing in ceremony that was also attended by several African heads of state, government officials and diplomats. Museveni swore allegiance to the country and to uphold its Constitution. |
