Death of a Legend
One of the most prominent leaders of the anti-apartheid movement, Albertina Sisulu, passed away in June at age 92. Known as a South African struggle icon, she trained as a nurse but established herself as an anti-apartheid activist, and later became known as the mother of the nation. She received an official state funeral, which featured a eulogy by President Jacob Zuma.
