Zhao Benshan, a famous Chinese comedy skit star, recently announced that he would stop performing skits to focus more on film and TV drama production. He said he wanted to give other actors more opportunity. Zhao was born in northeast China's Liaoning Province in 1957. He gained fame by performing a skit in the 1990 Spring Festival gala broadcast on China Central Television. He has been honored by Chinese audiences who have dubbed him "the comedy king" and "the Charlie Chaplin of the East."

Isabel Dos Santos, the oldest daughter of Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, has become Africa's first woman billionaire, according to Forbes. Recent purchases of shares in a few publicly traded companies in Portugal have increased the 40-year-old businesswoman's net worth to over $1 billion. Isabel Dos Santos' first business venture was a restaurant called Miami Beach that she opened in Luanda in 1997. She studied engineering at King's College in London, where she grew up following her parents' divorce. |
