Fu Ying, China’s Vice Foreign Minister, was named spokeswoman for the first session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) in March. Fu is the first spokeswoman in the history of the country’s top legislature. Her debut as the NPC spokeswoman won favorable reactions from the public. Kenya’s Fourth President
Kenya’s electoral body declared Uhuru Kenyatta the President of the Republic of Kenya after he won 6.17 million votes to beat his closest challenger Raila Odinga, in an historic election held in March. Kenyatta, the son of Kenya’s founding father, won the tenth election since the country’s independence by attaining the number of votes needed to meet threshold required by law. |
