The fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is slated to be held from July 19-20 in Beijing. China's Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun said that new cooperative measures toward African countries will be announced during the meeting.
Foreign ministers, and ministers from China and fifty African countries in charge of overseas economic cooperation, will be in attendance. Chairman of the African Union will also be present.
On July 13, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the seventh Lanting Forum, where the development path of the FOCAC was reviewed. Zhai announced that the Beijing Declaration, as well as an action plan for the next three years will be released during next week's meeting.
"Chinese leaders will announce new cooperative measures toward African countries during the meeting. Topics in major fields such as financing, assistance, integration of Africa, peace and security, and people-to-people contact will be included," Zhai said.
