Guest tents overlook the mighty Zambezi

360 degree view from main area
Wilderness Safaris' captivating Toka Leya Camp, situated in Zambia's Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, has reopened following the completion of extensive refurbishment of its tented rooms, as well as a total rebuild and expansion of its wellness facilities.
"We decided to reinvest in the guest experience at this camp in order to ensure that Toka Leya remains the best safari-style camp in the area. By enhancing our spa and gym, the camp is equally as appealing as a stand-alone destination where guests can choose from a myriad of activities, or a sanctuary where they can simply relax and enjoy the spectacular surroundings for a few days before or after a safari", says Ron Goatley, MD of Wilderness Safaris Zambezi Region.
The camp's 12 raised en-suite safari-style tents now include romantic outdoor baths, taking the sense of seclusion and luxury to a whole new level. In addition, the tents' decks have been modified to include an expansive drop-down sitting area, where guests can relax and take in the views of the mighty Zambezi and the Park's wildlife, including Toka Leya's resident hippo, affectionately named "Moto Moto."
The upgraded wellness area now includes a separate spa treatment room with outdoor decking overlooking the Zambezi River where guests can enjoy Pilates or yoga. A new air-conditioned fitness room has also been added, featuring gym equipment such as weights, exercise bike and a treadmill for those who like to keep active while on safari.
Perfectly situated near Livingstone and just 12 km from the renowned Victoria Falls, Toka Leya is well placed to offer a number of water and land-based activities – from cruises and tiger fishing on the Zambezi to game drives, nature walks and white rhino tracking in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Exploration of the surrounds includes tours of Victoria Falls, as well as Livingstone town and its local markets and villages. Other activities on offer nearby include bungee jumping, white water rafting, helicopter flights, micro lighting and jet boating.
