Inner Mongolia Agricultural University

Inner Mongolia Agricultural University

Established in 1952, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University (IMAU) has its primary focus on undergraduate studies. Nevertheless, it also pays attention to postgraduate, vocational and adult education. As a multi-disciplinary university, it covers such fields as agronomy, science, engineering, economics, management and education. IMAU has cultivated more than 70,000 skilled talents in diverse fields of study.

Currently, IMAU has 19 colleges, a physical education department and a research center for higher education. IMAU provides 61 undergraduate programs, 13 of which are taught in both Mongolian and Chinese. IMAU has six first-level and 33 second-level disciplines that are authorized to grant doctorate degrees. It also has 72 second-level disciplines that confer master degrees. Three centers for post-doctoral studies have also been established. 

IMAU has established broad academic ties with 20 universities in the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Australia, Japan, Russia and the Republic of Mongolia, among other nations. IMAU has also established collaborative programs with foreign educational institutions. Up to now, outstanding achievements have been made in teaching, scientific research, cultural exchanges and joint programs.
