
Located in Changchun, capital city of Jilin Province in northeast China, Changchun University of Science and Technology (CUST) is a provincial key university featured in engineering. Having four campuses, it covers an area of 800,000 square meters.
CUST was founded in 1958. After over 50 years of development, CUST has now become a multidisciplinary university in science, engineering, arts, economy, management and law, with photoelectric technology as its leading discipline and integration of optics, mechanics, electronics, computer and material science as its superiority.
Now CUST has a total enrollment of around 33,179 students, including 299 doctoral candidates, 4,103 postgraduates and 17,131 undergraduates. There are 1,255 full-time teachers, with 38 of them enjoying the special government allowance.
CUST has been expanding its cooperation and exchange with international institutions. There are now 189 foreign students from over 40 countries studying in the university. Over 300 teachers have been sent abroad for degree study, research and international academic conferences. CUST has established friendly cooperative relationship with over 90 universities in more than 20 countries including Russia, South Korea, Japan, United States, Norway, and Ukraine. One Confucius Institute has been established in Russia.
