Beihua University

Situated in Jilin City, Beihua University is the largest provincial comprehensive university in Jilin Province. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was founded in 1999 by the combination of the former Jilin Teachers' College, Jilin Medical College, Jilin Forestry College and Jilin Electrification Academy.

Covering an area of 1.26 million square meters, the university has four campuses and a total enrollment of 22,422 students, including 19,958 undergraduate students, 1,011 postgraduates and 469 international students. There are 1,496 full-time teachers, with 735 professors and associate professors, and three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. More than 60 famous experts and scholars are invited to be part-time professors or guest professors.

The university now has one medical school and 31 colleges, offering a wide range of programs including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and management, with one key discipline of the State Forestry Administration (Forest Cultivation) and six provincial key disciplines (Forest Cultivation, Clinical Test and Diagnosis, Special History, Medicine, Power Electronics and Electric Transmission, and Curriculum and Teaching Theory). It is also the sole educational and training base of psychological health for college students in Jilin Province.
