
Located in Jiamusi City of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Jiamusi University (JMSU) is the province's key comprehensive university. Established in 1947, it has found its way into the list of key universities to receive special support from the local Government.
Covering an area of 1.5 million square meters, the university now has 26 faculties and 69 research institutions, offering a wide range of disciplines including humanities, technological science, natural sciences, law, medicine, history, economy, education and management, with 76 specialties offering Bachelor's Degree and 34 specialties authorized to grant Master's Degree. There are three national characteristic disciplines, eight key provincial disciplines and eight key provincial majors.
At present, majors that recruit foreign students include: Chinese language and literature, clinical medicine, stomatology, rehabilitative medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, arts, economics, geography and hotel management.
JMSU attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation. It has established cooperative relationships with 32 universities and educational institutions from 13 countries and regions, such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom and Singapore. Every year over 500 overseas students come to study in JMSU. The university is also appointed by the Chinese Government to be one of the Chinese institutions eligible for admitting international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program.
