
Founded in 1954, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) is one of the earliest established universities of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in China. As the advocator of TCM higher education, NJUCM enjoys a reputation of "the cradle of Chinese TCM higher education" at home and abroad.
Today, with an enrollment of about 18,000, NJUCM consists of nine schools, offering 20 undergraduate programs, 42 master's programs, 24 doctorial programs and three post-doctorial programs. It has 19 affiliated hospitals and over 100 teaching hospitals and practicing bases.
NJUCM pays special attention to international exchanges and cooperation. It is the WHO Collaborating Center for Traditional Medicine, the International Acupuncture Training Center specified by China's Ministry of Health. The university has long-term friendly collaboration with government bodies, higher educational institutes and social organizations in over 30 countries around the world. It is also the first batch of TCM universities approved by the Ministry of Education of China to receive international students.
