InternationalMaster of Public Health (IMPH) Program

Introduction
The Research Center for Public Health, Tsinghua University has recently created a graduate level, interdisciplinary and cross-cultural degree focused on global public health. The International Master of Public Health (IMPH) Program is specifically designed for public health officials, disease prevention and control specialists and health program managers, with the purpose of improving health conditions and achieving health equity in developing countries.
Program Duration
This is a one-year, full-time graduate program, where students finish compulsory courses, selective courses and field studies including thesis writing.
Course modules and Credit Requirements
This full-time Masters Course is broken down into eight modules, listed below. All modules of both compulsory and selective are taken over two semesters combined with field study and thesis writing. Each module is composed of an introduction and presentation of selected subjects. Modules are taught by leading professors and researchers in the field of health sciences, social sciences and management sciences from both Tsinghua and its partner institutions.
In one year of study, students are requested to attend eight modules and obtain at least 28 credits in total for the master's degree.

The program takes the innovative approach of combining lectures, seminars, group discussions, tutorials and student presentations. Meanwhile, according to one's own interests, students have the opportunity to take other English-taught graduate courses.
Students are required to write a research thesis in English in no fewer than 10,000 words. Students are required to utilize knowledge and methodologies from their course studies to analyze real health issues in their own countries.
Admissions
1) A bachelor's degree or equivalent
2) Two years working experience in public health or relevant areas
3) Excellent command of English
