Application Requirements

The application will be considered only when we have received the following documents:

(1) The completed Foreigner's Application Form for Admission to Graduate Programs of Tsinghua University with 2-inch recent photo, signed by the applicant.
(2) Personal statement of purpose.
(3) The original or the notarial copies of degree certificate(s) and academic transcript(s) from each post-secondary institution attended.

(4) Two academic letters of recommendation from your previous tutor and employer with their contact detail including mail address, phone number and institutional email address.
(5) Copy of the page with personal information in your passport.
(6) The completed Tuition Scholarship Application Form of Tsinghua University.
The application fee is 600 yuan (non-refundable).
The certificates provided should be in Chinese or English. Otherwise notarial translations in Chinese or English are required. None of the above application documents will be returned.

Application Deadline

Both the online application and a complete set of application documents should be completed and the package should be submitted by November 15, 2013.
Please note that for Government or University scholarship applicants, applicants must submit the online application and all relevant documents before October 31, 2013.

Application Procedure

Step 1: Online Application

Complete Online Application on the website of International Students Office, Tsinghua University ( http://is.tsinghua.edu.cn/EN/online-application/instruction.html). Print and sign the Application Form produced by the system after the application status changes to "verified." For scholarship application documents, please refer to the section "Tuition and Scholarship".

Step 2: Documents Submission

Submit the application documents listed above to TPHRC below by post mail or in person.

Step 3: Application Fee Payment

Two ways to pay application fee:
1. Pay online using credit card
After your online application form is verified or the materials are received by Tsinghua University, the staff will make you the online payment draft, and automatically send you an email reminder to pay the application fee via the online application system.
2. Pay in cash at the International Students Office (Room 120, Zijing Building 22) of Tsinghua University.

Entry Appraisal

All application materials will be reviewed by an academic panel of TPHRC. The panel may request an additional phone interview.

Tuition and Scholarship

The annual tuition fee for 2014 is 45,000 yuan.

In addition to tuition fees, a further 50,000 yuan per year (minimum) is required to cover living expenses, accommodation, medical insurance and books.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Beijing Government Scholarship, and Tsinghua University Scholarship. More information about scholarship is available at http://is.tsinghua.edu.cn/EN/scholarship/intro.html
